| | Saxon : Airevac System
AIR EVACUATION SYSTEM for the SAXON range of Continuous Heat Sealers - Developed to extract surplus air from plastic bags during the heat sealing operation using a Saxon continuous hot air heat sealer
- Helps eliminate the balloon effect which can result in unstable palletization
- Can be fitted to a wide range of SAXON sealers
- Reduces the volume of stacked goods
- Variable insertion probe
- Amount of air withdrawn can be easily controlled from air reduction to partial vacuum
- Evacuation pump has no moving parts
- Programmable control
- Suitable for a wide range of bags, products and applications
- Designed to work with plastic bags containing micro perforations allowing air to escape
- In certain applications, evacuation to partial vacuum can also be achieved adding to the range of possible uses
- Low maintenance
- Consistency of operation
- Can be programmed to operate continuously (while the bag is moving) or on a START/STOP basis (while the bag is stationary)
HOW THE 'AIREVAC' WORKS Once the filled bag has been trimmed ( and cleaned if the AIRWASH BAG TOP CLEANER is fitted) The Saxon 'Airevac' system opens the top of the bag momentarily with vacuum cups and inserts the suction probe. The top of the bag then creates a seal around the probe and air is withdrawn under vacuum. The probe then withdraws and the bag proceeds along the conveyor for immediate heat sealing. OPERATING PARAMETERS | PRODUCT TYPES | CONTINUOUS OPERATION | START/STOP OPERATION | | Non-powders i.e. solids and larger granules | General small bags up to 5Kg and approx up to 200mm wide, surplus air removal only. Amount of air removed depends on speed and width of bag. | All bags up to 25Kg. Air removal up to and including partial vacuum condition. | | Powders i.e. fine granules, powders greater than 7um | Requires special treatment - consult with our technical department | All bags up to 25Kg. Surplus air removal only. | | Pastes, Liquids, and Fluids | Requires special treatment for both operations. Consult with our technical department. | | | BAGS | CONTINUOUS OPERATION | START/STOP OPERATION | | Bag Width | Max - no limit Min - Greater than 200mm | Max - *350-500mm Min - 100mm | | Bag Thickness | 75-150 microns (3-6 mils) | 50-200 microns (2-8 mils) | | Bag Spacing | 75mm (3") | *300-900mm (12"-36") | | Speed of operation | 10.6 m/min 35 ft/min | No limit - subject to certain conditions | | Bag Material | Any smooth, non-dimpled, non-porous material | | Bag Type | Flat pillow sacks or gussetted sack (subject to certain conditions) | | *Depending on SAXON model being used |
