Taylor Products : BDAP Dual Screw

Taylor BD Auger Packer with Dual Screws includes the following components:

Carbon steel base framework, shields, weigh mast assembly, inlet hopper, and 1nflatable bag clamp (V-Style clamp is used when this scale is used with TOMP Bag Handler). All carbon steel framework and components are finished with an industrial polyurethane enamel.

The flanged inlet hopper will hold approximately 2 cubic foot of product, inlet height of 82 inches. The hopper has a drop bottom clean out door with a safety interlock switch. The drop out door is easily removed by using the crank handle to lower and raise door. An agitator system in the hopper prevents product bridging. The agitator is available with a paddle, finger, or ribbon - style blades. A gear reduction drive is provided to power the agitator and is belt driven from the dribble screw motor. Standard motors are two, 3 H.P. TEFC, 230/460 volt 3 phase 60 Hz. with motor starters included in a NEMA 12 enclosure.

The dual feed screws are single speed standard, with dual speed options available for both screws. The large bulk auger is direct driven from a gear drive motor and is provided with a Allen Bradley AC frequency controller. This allows the large screws speed to he set for maximum delivery. If very free flowing products are handled the auger speed can be slowed to prevent over flowing the transition spout. In the standard configuration the AC controller setting is adjusted via the controller box. The auger is mounted through the bottom of the hopper with external bearings. The rear bearing has an air purge seal with Teflon packing glands. The auger delivers product to the bag through the fill spout.

The small dribble auger is direct driven from a second motor. Again, the auger is mounted through the bottom of the hopper with external bearings. The rear bearing has an air purge seal with Teflon packing glands. The auger delivers product to the bag through the fill spout. Both the large and small diameter screws have an auger cap system at the end of the screw to positively cutoff product flow. This helps provide consistent bag weights and also prevents product from dribbling past the screw when aerated products are being handled. Auger cap sequencing is handled by the weigh controller.

Once the start button is depressed both augers turn on. When the dribble set point is reached the large auger is stopped. The small auger then finishes the filling cycle. The small auger trim allows for increased weigh accuracy's. Dual speed or frequency controlled motors are optional for even more speed and accuracy control.

The Inflatable bag clamp is mounted on a weigh mast assembly, suspended from a 500 pound capacity electronic load cell, with double flex leaves supporting the mast tap and bottom to equalize the dead load. Once the bag is placed on the fill spout. the inflatable bladder expands to hold the bag in place.

The controls and weigh meter are enclosed in a NEMA 12 panel. The weigh meter includes a 3 1/2 digit LED readout calibrated in pounds and 1/10th of a pound, zero adjustment knob, and cutoff set point. Controls include power on/off, and start/stop controls.

Requires 115 volt single phase 60 Hz for controls, 230/460 volt 3 phase 60 Hz. for motors, and 90 psi compressed air at 5 SCFM.
