In this blog post, we’re reviewing a Filling option in the form of the Taylor TE100 Gross Weigh Open Mouth Bagger.

Taylor TE100 Gross Weigh Open Mouth Bagger
The Taylor TE100 is fully electronic and digitally controlled. The Taylor TE100 gross weighter* is a semi-automated bagging machine designed for filling larger bags (20-125 lbs) with free-flowing granular materials. It operates using gravity feed and features a dual-stage gate system (bulk and dribble) for accurate filling. The electronic scale can be set for either gross or net weighing, with an accuracy of +/-0.4%. It can fill up to 14 bags per minute and has a sturdy NEMA 12 enclosure for protection.

Quick Comparison of models TE100 and OM2 from Taylor
The Taylor TE100 and Taylor OM2 are open-mouth baggers designed for filling bags with free-flowing granular materials like seeds, grains, sand, and pellets. However, they cater to different needs and budgets, making it essential to understand their key differences before making a choice. Here’s a comparison to help you choose the best one for your needs:

Operation:

  • TE100: Semi-automated with an electronic scale and self-correcting features, requires power and compressed air
  • OM2 (and OM2-A): Completely mechanical, requiring no electricity* or compressed air, but more manual operation
    • *Caveat: The OM2-A requires electricity for the automation of the pneumatic bag clamps

Filling Speed:

  • TE100: Up to 14 bags per minute
  • OM2: Up to 12 bags per minute

Accuracy:

  • TE100: Higher accuracy with a digital electronic scale and programmable over/under weight limits
  • OM2: Good accuracy with a self-dampening beam scale, but not as precise as the TE100

Weight Range:

  • TE100: 20 to 125 pounds
  • OM2: 25 to 150 pounds

Other Features:

  • TE100: Bulk and dribble flow gate, NEMA 12 enclosure, painted carbon steel frame
  • OM2: Adjustable flow gate, concentric bag clamp (OM2) or pneumatic bag clamps with automatic release (OM2-A)

Cost:

  • TE100: More expensive due to its electronic components and features
  • OM2: Less expensive due to its simpler design
