Industrial Shrink Wrappers

Stretch film can be an ideal method of securing and protecting a palletized load because it continuously tries to contract back to its unstretched state. However, to prevent damage during shipment, three criteria must be met: (1) the shrink film must fully contain the product, (2) the load must be secured to the pallet and (3) the beginning and end of the stretch film must be secured.

To ensure that the load arrives undamaged the film’s placement, applied containment force and pre-stretched levels must be controlled. Proper stretch wrapping techniques can be developed through load analysis testing on shaker tables and acceleration/deceleration sleds.

Pallet Stretch Wrapper FAQs

Inpak Systems offers turntable stretch wrappers where the pallet is placed on a rotating platform and the film carriage moves vertically up and down. Contact our technical engineers to help with selecting the best model that meets your needs.

The decision is based on daily pallet throughput and labor costs. Semi-automatic wrappers can wrap 10 to 40 pallets per day. Automatic wrappers can wrap 40 to 100+ pallets per hour. Contact our technical engineers to help selecting the best model that meets your needs.

Standard industrial wrappers deliver 200% to 300% pre-stretch rates. This means 1 foot of film on the roll is stretched into 3 to 4 feet of usable film on your pallet, cutting film consumption costs by up to 50%.

Standard commercial turntable wrappers support weight capacities ranging from 3,000 lbs. to 5,000 lbs.

Yes. modern stretch wrappers utilize infrared photo-eye sensors or laser profile scanners that automatically detect the top and sides of irregular loads.

Entry-level semi-automatic turntable wrappers operate on standard 120V AC, 15-Amps. High-speed fully automatic wrappers with pneumatic top-clamps &/or automated film cut-and-wipe systems typically require 240V/480V 3-phase electrical power with 80 to 100 PSI compressed air.
